Teledyne Imaging has unveiled its 3D Apps Studio, a powerful new suite of software tools engineered for inline 3D machine vision applications. Designed for seamless integration with the company’s Z-Trak family of laser profilers, these tools simplify complex 3D measurement and inspection processes for factory automation. Capable of processing objects with diverse surface types, geometries, and sizes, the software addresses critical needs in industries such as electric vehicles (EV batteries, motor stators), automotive, electronics, semiconductors, packaging, and logistics.
Precision Tools for Advanced Inspection
Teledyne DALSA’s Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio includes features to streamline tasks such as object thickness measurement, glue-bead and weld seam inspection, and defect detection on flat, inclined, or curved surfaces. The suite also offers advanced anchoring and reflection elimination capabilities to ensure reliable and repeatable results in various operational environments.
In addition, Teledyne’s Z-Trak laser profilers, with multi-sensor configurations, enhance field-of-view flexibility while still maintaining high-resolution accuracy. The system supports 360° object inspection and simultaneous acquisition, processing, and analysis of 3D scans and 2D grayscale images with robust visualization capabilities.
Ease of Integration
For quick deployment, the 3D Apps Studio is accessible via Sherlock 8.30 or higher, a no-code graphical development environment tailored for factory applications. Each Z-Trak 3D laser profiler comes equipped with a Sherlock 8 license, streamlining integration and optimizing production workflows.
