Ati Motors, a developer of AI-driven autonomous robotics, has raised $20 million in Series B funding to support global expansion across North America and APAC.Walden Catalyst Ventures and NGP Capital co-led the round, which also included True Ventures, Exfinity Venture Partners, Athera Venture Partners, and Blume Ventures.
The investment follows a period of significant growth for Ati Motors, which tripled its order book in Q4 2024 and added nine new industry-leading clients. The company has deployed hundreds of its Sherpa robots in 40 leading manufacturing facilities, including those of Forvia and Hyundai, with multiple large-scale deployments in North America.
Expanding the Role of AI in Industrial Automation

Ati Motors integrates robotics, artificial intelligence, and manufacturing expertise to develop autonomous robotic solutions for dynamic and complex industrial environments. The company’s robots leverage one of the largest and most diverse factory datasets for autonomous movement, achieving high uptime and measurable productivity gains for customers.
As manufacturers look to automation to address labor shortages and the challenges of repetitive, hazardous tasks, the adoption of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) has been limited by the availability of robots capable of matching human performance in real-world settings. Ati Motors’ technology is designed to bridge this gap.
Saurabh Chandra, Founder and CEO of Ati Motors, emphasized the company’s mission to advance industrial automation.
“Since our founding, Ati Motors mission has been to create advanced, reliable products that enhance both productivity and efficiency in industrial settings,” said Saurabh Chandra, Founder and CEO of Ati Motors. “This funding will accelerate our ability to leverage our extensive real-world dataset to develop next-generation AI models and further advance our industrial autonomy platform. The rapid growth we’re experiencing validates our approach of focusing on manufacturing as a vertical and conceptualizing these robots as purpose-built self-driving vehicles.”
Industry Recognition and Investor Confidence
The funding reflects strong investor confidence in Ati Motors’ approach to industrial robotics.
Shankar Chandran, Partner at Walden Catalyst Ventures, highlighted the company’s potential to drive the next wave of industrial automation.
“Ati Motors represents the future of industrial automation. Their unique combination of advanced AI capabilities and robotics, along with a deep understanding of manufacturing environments, positions them perfectly to lead the next wave of industrial automation. The impressive growth they’ve achieved validates their approach and demonstrates the strong market demand for their solutions.”
Upal Basu at NGP Capital underscored Ati Motors’ ability to scale fully autonomous mobile robots across diverse industrial environments.
“We’re excited to co-lead this investment in Ati Motors. The company’s ability to successfully deploy fully autonomous mobile robots across diverse industrial environments, combined with its rapidly growing customer base, makes it a standout in the industrial automation space. We believe their unique approach to combining Edge AI, LIDAR, and robotics will help address a critical need in the manufacturing sector.”
Expanding Global Operations and Market Presence
The Series B funding will support product development, expansion into new markets, and strengthening Ati Motors’ position in AI-driven industrial automation. The company has recently:
- Established operations in Mexico
- Expanded its presence in the U.S., India, and Southeast Asia
- Strengthened its North America headquarters in Detroit, MI
As Ati Motors scales its global footprint, it continues to drive AI-powered robotics adoption in manufacturing, logistics, and industrial automation.
