Founded in 2015 in Venlo, Netherlands, Accerion is an innovative technology company specializing in infrastructure-free positioning solutions for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Its proprietary optical sensor technology enables sub-millimeter accurate localization by referencing the unique microstructure of the floor surface—eliminating the need for external infrastructure such as QR codes, magnets, or LiDAR reflectors. Accerion’s systems are designed to enhance the flexibility, scalability, and cost-efficiency of industrial automation, particularly in dynamic or large-scale environments.

In 2024, Accerion was acquired by SICK AG, a global leader in sensor-based automation solutions. The acquisition expands SICK’s portfolio of navigation and localization technologies and reinforces its commitment to advancing next-generation mobile robotics and smart logistics.
